Our History
Historyland Memorial Park and Arboretum is a “Perpetual Care” cemetery located in the Historic Northern Neck of Virginia serving the Greater Fredericksburg area. It is located on James Madison Parkway in King George County. The Northern Neck and specifically King George and Westmoreland Counties are rich in history and some of America’s founding fathers were born in the immediate area. These notable figures include, George Washington, James Monroe, James Madison and members of the Lee family. In fact, State Route 3 (which is nearby and travels the length of the Northern Neck) was named “Historyland Highway”.
Several of the different Garden Sections in our cemetery are named after these founding fathers. These gardens are the George Washington Circle, the James Madison Garden, the James Monroe Garden and the Robert E. Lee Garden.
For 50 years, families from King George, Westmoreland, Colonial Beach, Montross, Caroline, Spotsylvania, Stafford, City of Fredericksburg and the southern Maryland areas of La Plata and Waldorf, who need cemetery burial plot (casket burial and cremation burial options) have chosen Historyland Memorial Park and Arboretum for it’s beautiful and peaceful grounds and its less expensive burial offerings. Being family owned and operated allows Historyland Memorial Park and Arboretum to offer prices that, in some instances, are ½ the price of cemeteries and memorial parks in the Fredericksburg area and southern Maryland.
